In December 2016, Pickering Joinery committed to a new window and door machinery project.The project is due to be delivered in December 2017, although, it has been successfully tested and commissioned already in Italy. One of the first pieces of advice we received when beginning this journey, was that the decision on the software provider was equally, or more, important as the decision on the actual machine and tooling components. After widespread research, comprising a number of overseas trips, visits to many European factories, trade fair visits and calling on an extensive network of contacts, both in Australia and Europe, Pickering Joinery made the decision to partner with Kosmosoft. The decision has been a fantastic result. In no small way, Kosmosoft have been a key component in ensuring the project has been delivered on time and with the production capability that we envisaged when we started the process. They have managed to adapt the software to suit our Australian window and door production. The main changes to consider from normal European production, was the size of our frames, and the large variances in the widths and thickness of timbers used. Our production is far more bespoke orientated than standard set designs. The communication between Kosmosoft and our office in Australia has been tremendous. They have examined every fine detail of all our designs and left nothing to chance. If designs have presented programing difficulties, the issue has been discussed, options provided and satisfactory solutions found. The end result is that all our customs designs have been catered for in the Archimede program. We are exceptionally happy with our partnership with Kosmosoft and thank them for the part they have played in delivering a successful project to date
